Pretty off-topic here, as this is about video games. I've noticed that one of the main reasons why I struggle with first-person-shooter games is my amazing ability to completely tense my entire body. I also hold my breath a lot while playing, which is probably not helping. This prevents me from moving my wrist fast enough, or even far enough, to aim properly. I wish I had a way to record myself playing so I could see when I tense up, and correct it. Also, I just ordered a new mouse (Logitech G502), mousepad (SteelSeries Qck Mass), and mouse bungee.

Anyways, here's my new desktop background, taken from CarThrottle.

Sounds like you need a sniper game

Here's the thing though: I'm good at the game. It's just every now and then, when it gets extremely intense, that it happens. I just need to figure out how to relax during those moments.

I'm not very good at shooting people but I'm pretty good with an battle ax. So I've got that going for me which is nice.

I think being a sniper could be a big help. you're probably tensing up while in the middle of crazy fire fights. If you sit back and snipe, you might be more chill. I used to be a beast as a sniper.

Mostly on the original xbox (I can't call it one anymore lol), I used to play Ghost Recon 2 waaaay too much. I was actually ranked in the top 1000 in the world (millions playing) on xbox live in sniping.

Had a guy who lived in my college dorm almost STEP ON ME I was hidden so well lol (yes he got dead after that).

It's not really an excuse. Just something I can do to improve. I'm not bad at video games.

Ghost Recon was the bomb. I started playing split screen with my buddies but I knew the maps so well that it wasn't even fair. I'd see a bush or something on their screen and start cackling. Shortly after that their threat indicator would turn red and they'd panic knowing I was about to wreck them.

Then we started playing by system link so that we couldn't see the other screen. I would figure out where they were by circling the map at high speed and just spiral in on them. So much fun was had.

hahahah

The absolute COOLEST thing in college, was that we all plugged in LAN. We didn't have modems or routers - we plugged into the wall. Which made the entire two 12 story dorm buildings on the same local network. Our building was a north and south tower connected at the base. I went to Michigan State which has giant dorms, that was just 1 building if you don't know the school haha.

But yeah we didn't even need xbox live to play local. Was awesome. We all were in our own rooms lining the whole hallway. Something would happen in game (like the above kill) and you'd hear yelling all the way up and down the hall, screen cheating was impossible.

It was the pinnacle of gaming if you ask me. The most fun I ever had in gaming was on that floor or at xbox LAN parties.

Man I had fun in that game....i mean no one else did...but damn did I have fun with that sniper. Who the hell was the wise ass who decided it would be a good idea to give me a silenced sniper? And he was never seen or heard from again....

Kids nowadays with their internets and wireless routers and flat screen TV's. I would lug my Xbox and heavy as crap 19" CRT over to my buddies house just to play Ghost Recon for a couple hours. And it was the funnest multiplayer gaming that I've ever played. Since there were only two TV's we would play winner stays, and with a house full of guys the shit talking got hilarious.

oh yeah man, we used to in high school/part of my college set up with 4 tvs in one house, my one buddy was wired up so we'd play living room vs basement. 2 tvs up 2 tvs down Halo fights were insanity.

I actually dropped xbox live last year. I realized anytime i went online i was setting the voices to mute so i didn't hear a racist 12 year old screaming gay slurs the whole game. Wasn't worth it anymore. I'd still do it if I could get enough friends together locally. Especially because I just hard wired my whole house with cat 6 ethernet cable LOL.

About a year ago I finally got enough internet service to be worth playing Live. If I'm not on with my IRL friends I don't even bother with the chat. So many annoying 12 year olds.
